Activities

Maple Lane believes in teaching the whole child.  Therefore, we encourage our students to participate in after-school activities. At Maple Lane,  are proud to offer a variety of extracurricular and after-school activities for our students.  Involvement in these programs help build character, creativity, teamwork, and more - all of which are important to the growth and development of our young learners!

Cheerleading

What would we do without all the energy and enthusiasm our cheerleaders give at each basketball game? Under the guidance of Mrs. Ferm and Ms. McDonough, students build strength by rehearsing weekly, particularly in their lower body, shoulders and core. Stretching exercises within each class develop their flexibility, increasing their range of movement. They learn team work and develop leadership skills at the same time as they improve their coordination and mood! Why? Cheerleading is all about portraying a positive outlook with upbeat chants and a huge smile which is sure to leave you in a good mood!

Drama Club

Maple Lane is proud to have a Drama program directed by Mr. Joshua Glass and co-directed by Mrs. Montella

Elementary Basketball League
Maple Lane believes in teaching the whole child. Therefore, we encourage our students to participate in after-school activities. Our fourth and fifth graders have the opportunity to play basketball every Winter season. Some students make our Top-10 Basketball Girls and Boys Teams. These students play in the Elementary Basketball League and represent Maple Lane. The Girls and Boys each have a championship bracket.  Students are encouraged to show sportsmanship and team-work through cooperative play. The goal is to encourage fitness and getting involved in school beyond academics.

Girls Club

The Girls Club at Maple Lane Elementary is all about helping its members learn important life skills and become role models in their school. Through the club, girls will focus on things like setting goals, doing well in school, staying healthy, being respectful and polite, handling challenges with determination, solving problems peacefully, and getting along with others. They'll also have fun learning through field trips, guest speakers, school events, community service, and more. By participating, girls will grow in confidence and leadership, and they'll inspire others to do their best too. The club aims to prepare them for success in school and in life, teaching skills that are useful both now and in the future.
